What can clowning tell me about my scene partner?
Led by Rhys McClelland, Artistic Director of Eunoia Theatre.
In this active, play focused workshop we will explore the joyful simplicity of the clown to remind ourselves of the pure delight of presence as we perform, and to discover new levels of complicity with a scene partner. Regardless of the material you may have, what your clown has to teach about joyful presence, performance as a play, and being prepared to be ’seen’ can breath new life into every action, and every sharing of space.
Dress to move, be ready to play, be ready to be silly, and give your serious side a night off...
When: June 21, 7:15-10:15 PM
Where: The White Box Studio (2 N Main St, Harrisonburg)
Who: Studio sessions are only for actors who have performed in past staged readings or full productions, or who are cast in our current season, as well as directors who have worked with us previously and people who have led Studio workshops.
Silk Moth Stage produces place-based community events with new and under-produced plays at the center. Our productions are artist-centered and audience-connected. By creating a broader experience around the play, we hope to stretch the public’s conception of theater-going and reach beyond a typical theater audience.
We invite people to reconsider what a theater experience can be.
